RFID

Article identification systems allow retailers to track articles and products that are present in a store and that are taken through or outside of a store. When identification is combined with a surveillance solution, retail owners have actual information available about the availibilty of products in the store. Century Europe’s article identification solutions (RFID) help to provide insight into stock and availability of products.

What is RFID (radio-frequency identification)

Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is a method to identify products based on RF technology by applying an RFID label. RFID is applied in, for example, a production process to track an individual product and in supply chains to track pallets. RFID item-level tagging is also applied to track and control inventory. In retail stores, it is often combined with an electronic article surveillance (EAS) system to secure specific products. Sometimes, an EAS system is delivered RFID-ready, which makes it easy to upgrade from RF to RFID. EAS and RFID tags can provide both security and insight into stock, which facilitates retailers to track and manage inventory more efficiently.
