T228-SU Tag to fight against Wardrobing - 17/07/2020

The new “2019 Consumer Returns in the Retail Industry” report states that overall value of returned merchandise in the United States during the past year was $309 billion, and returns from online purchases accounted for $41 billion of the total amount. Even though many of these returns could be attributed to the quality of the product, the wrong size or simply the consumer’s second thoughts, the rising trend of ‘wardrobing’ – where consumers purchase an item, use it, and then return it – is rapidly becoming one of the biggest challenges facing the retail industry.
Century the world’s leading supplier of innovative EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance), RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) products, systems and solutions, is now launching its new concept tag-SU Tag (T228, Single-use Tag), which is recommended to be used, in order to reduce the number of fraudulent articles-returns.
SU Tag (T228) is very effective in preventing “clients” from simulating a wardrobe typical process and misusing the fitting-rooms or the sales surface, when returning merchandise and claiming for a non-justified full refund. SU Tag (T228) is easy to attach to the clothing, by using a pin in a highly visible area and in a bright red color. Attention will be attracted signifying that the merchandise is protected.
